In 2001 Ripley (then published as 'Rip') held a solo exhibition in London of his large-scale portraits of Formula One drivers entitled 'Grand Prix Gallery - Formula One Portraiture by Rip'. This was held at The Truman Brewery on Brick Lane.

 

The work was composed from portraits which Ripley had taken over a period of a few years when working within F1 for the highest selling Formula One editorial F1 Racing, and involved a mixture of Ripley's photographic portraiture combined with composite CGI work by dbox.
